Camphost Training Academy Is Live!
The camphost academy is live! This will house all trainings to get hosts prepped for their time on-site including expectations, the camphost tech stack, how to deal with stressfull situations and much more. We had a lot of fun building this and will be adding lots more to it in the future. If you haven’t yet you can check it out here. Will be a good recourse to reference if there’s anything you’re feeling rusty on.

Other Ways To Earn!
Here’s 5 examples of other organic ways camphosts have earned while providing added value to the community…
Turn Over Rentals - Some locations have extra glamping/short term rentals onsite that you can earn an added commission or cleaning fee for turning over the rentals between guests!
Buy-in Meals / Treats - One of our camphosts Emily provided weekly dinners to folks on-site for a $15 buy in on. Jayna another host whipped up acai bowls in the mornings for folks for $8. Both hosts would announce the offer in the on-site discord and get a headcount of who was interested/in.
Dog Watching - Elizabeth would watch folks dogs who came through the Joshua Tree location so they could have a day of freedom to explore the park, since dogs aren’t allowed on hikes. She charged an hourly rate to hang with peoples dogs, she used the rover app to charge folks and to build up her reviews and profile.
Rides - Justin would offer to pick up and drop off people from the mechanic, airport, etc for a flat fee.
Rig Services - Have some killer electric/solar knoweldge, building skills, painting skills? You are welcome to offer those to the VLC community when it seems someone is in need of that service!
Yoga - Are you a certified yoga teacher? Host donation-based classes for campers!
