VLC JOSHUA TREE QUICK LINKS:

ARRIVING AT VLC Joshua Tree:

Check-in: 3pm - 8pm

Please text your Camphost (below) with your ETA and upon arrival so they can greet you and show you around camp.

Coming from Lear Avenue, turn left onto Valle Vista (on your right, you’ll see a line of mailboxes just before the turn). The paved road turns into dirt shortly after you turn.

From Valle Vista, take the first right onto Los Olivos. Shortly after you turn onto Los Olivos, the entrance to camp will be on your right (drive past the first house on your right). The entrance to camp is lined with tires on either side of our dirt driveway and you will go through a gate on your way in.

If you booked a boondock spot, you can park anywhere around the central community hangout area, which is a shaded, gravel area with picknick tables. You’ll see fire-pit rings scattered in the outer area as you loop around. It’s a full-circle loop, so feel free to drive around and find your perfect spot.

If you booked a power spot, you’ll find the plug ins behind the big blue storage container. Power box is below the dart board along the fence. Anywhere you can fit in that area is fine. Parallel with the short fence line works well for folks.

Check-out: by 12pm

All VLC guests must re-book or be off-site by noon on their checkout date. Please text your camphost (or preferably send a direct message on the VLC discord!) if you have any questions or concerns!

CAMPGROUND INFO:

Co-Work & Hangout Areas

In the gravel and deck area you’ll find picnic tables, chairs, the community event board, a communal fire pit, and games galore. Inside the community trailer, you’ll find a great co-work spot, tons of board games, and other treasures (including a microwave!!). Use these spaces at anytime, just be sure to leave the area tidy for the next person.

You may use the outlets in the trailer to charge small items like laptops and phones. If you need to charge larger items like portable power stations, please Venmo @vanlifecampgrounds (last 4 digits = 5228) $5 per hour of charging to compensate for our added power costs.

Kitchen

Between the two cabins you’ll find the community kitchen complete with propane stovetops, a blackstone, an air fryer, a sink to wash dishes, and a communal beer fridge. All hanging pots, pans and utensils are communal.

The fridge is for beer, ice cream, and ice only. Please do not use it for other food.

When using the Blackstone, please use a high smoke point oil like avocado, grapeseed, or canola. When you’re done using it, be sure to empty the grease cup, clean the griddle top, turn off the propane, replace the silicone mat, and replace the cover.

Bathroom & Shower

Behind the community kitchen, you’ll find two bathrooms with composting toilet. Toilets are SIT-DOWN ONLY toilets. #1 goes in the front hole, #2 goes in the back hole. If you must stand to pee, please water our creosote bushes, they’re always thirsty. If the bathroom needs maintenance of any kind, please let your Camphost know!

Next to the bathrooms, you’ll find the outdoor shower. It should get hot instantly and you’re welcome to use this at anytime, day or night. If the shower isn’t getting hot, let your camphost know - the propane may need to be replaced.

Water

You’ll find a potable water spigot right next to the wooden, square planter box in front of the community kitchen. You can pull your rig right up next to it. There’s also a Brita filter on the kitchen sink for quick water bottle fill-ups.

Grey Water Dump

The world famous mystery sink sits between the shower & kitchen. You can drive your rig right up next to it and dump GREY WATER ONLY. Please do not put any solids, black water, or human waste into the mystery sink.

Wi-Fi

We have Starlink Wi-Fi and the router is located inside the community trailer. You’re welcome to work in there or park nearby for the best signal.
