This Location Is Part Of The Van Life Campgrounds Network.

A growing network of community-oriented campgrounds created just for nomads on wheels. Unlike typical campgrounds where everyone hides in their own private spot, at VLC’s everyone parks around a central “hangout” area designed to bring folks together.

INTRODUCING LOCATION TYPES:

🟠 Joshua Tree Is A Homebase Location 🟠

1. HOMEBASES 🟠: This the full VLC experience: homebases provide the community and stability of home, on the road. Homebase locations are fully staffed with camphosts to bring folks together with weekly activities, shared meals and rad experiences. Recommended 1-90 days.

2. PARTNERS 🟡: Partners are 3rd party locations (not managed by VLC) that are worth experiencing. Whether it’s a hostel that allows van parking, a vintage airstream hotel, or campground on a cattle ranch. These are just rad places with community vibes. Recommended 1-14 days.

3. PIT STOPS ⚫:The newest location type. Pit Stops are safe places that vanlifers can land for a night or two. Pit stops will be mostly pieces of raw or early stage land owned by nomads. This is our way of supporting nomads turned land-owners in their mission develop their land! Recommended 1-3 days.

This 5 acres just outside of Joshua Tree National Park is the VLC that started it all.

With the perfect blend of city access and amenities with the feeling of being in the middle of nowhere.

Come park around the central hangout area with shade, games, tables, co-working spaces, wifi and everything else you’ll need to station yourself in the Southern California desert throughout the fall, winter and spring (closed for summer season).

This location has rotating Camphosts. We give our growing group of vetted nomad hosts the ability to sign-up for Camphost stints on-demand while they travel.

Pet Policy: Pets are allowed off-leash at your own risk. Snakes, scorpions and coyotes (while not common) are a thing out here.

Arriving: 2WD vehicles can easily access spots. Check-in starts at 2pm and checkout by noon.

Get access to our growing list of reoccuring and spontaneous caravans moving between VLC locations, vanlife events/meetups and wherever the hell else we want to go. Can even work with us to create and advertise your own caravan to the VLC network.
3. COMMUNITY CALENDAR

Join our community run calendar to add and check out all of the events that the VLC community are going to, interested in or have created (maybe find a caravan to one as well!). This is also a space to create and host digital meetups like game/movie nights or whatever else you can think of.
4. EARLY ACCESS

You’ll be allowed to book new locations to help us gather feedback before they’re announced to the public. You’ll receive first notice of new paid gigs, workstays, investment opportunities, beta progams, etc. Whatever it is we want to try, test or launch this is where it goes first!
5. DIRECT ACCESS

The VLC team along with the founder are in our digital community joining the conversation and learning what you love (or don’t so much love) about VLC’s. The best place for access to our team to share ideas, feedback, vote on new initiatives and help shape the future of this project.

We’ll be curating lists of nearby experiences to add onto any of your VLC stays and support local businesses. From ziplines, skydiving, wine tasting, local restaurants, etc.
